NAACP ACT-SO Competition Recruiting Students

MIAMI – The Miami-Dade NAACP is now recruiting high school students, grades 9-12, to participate in the local 2016 NAACP ACT-SO (an acronym for Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics) competition on Saturday, April 2, 2016 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Booker T. Washington Senior High School 1200 NW 6th Avenue, Miami, FL.

ACT-SO brings talented African American youths together to compete in local contests, with an opportunity to vie for scholarships and prizes in a national competition. Known as an “Olympics of the Mind,” ACT-SO presents gold, silver and bronze medals to first, second and third place winners.

Local ACT-SO gold medalists will compete for scholarships and prizes during the 38th Annual ACT-SO National Finals July 14-17 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
