LAUDERDALE LAKES – Radio Station Mystik 1400 AM, The Caribbean National Weekly, and Café Calypso, will host a Community Voter Registration Drive, Saturday, August 19, 2006, 1:00pm-3:00pm at Café Calypso located at 6190 W. Oakland Park Blvd. in the Inverrama Plaza. Author/radio host Andre Eggelletion and Mystik 1400 will be broadcasting “live”.
Broward County is the home to a large and diverse population. However, registered voters account for a fraction of that total. It is imperative that our community unite together, Democrats and Republicans and appeal to our growing community during this current election season. Voter registration and participation is still by far, one of the most important issues that need to be addressed in our community.
Confirmed to participate are the Supervisor of Elections, Dr. Brenda Snipes, Broward’s Vice Mayor Joe Eggelletion, Businessmen, Dr. Dorsey Miller, Glenn Joseph, Commissioners Levoyd Williams, Margaret Bates, Hazelle Rogers, Barrington Russell along with Attorneys Levi Williams, Marlon Hill, among others.
The Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office representatives will be on hand to register the public for the fall elections.
