Brades, Montserrat – As part of continued efforts to streamline the island’s tourism initiatives, the Montserrat Tourist Board (MTB), in conjunction with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), has started a training program for taxi drivers, tour guides and operators. The program began on Monday, August 16 at the Lookout Community Centre and will end on Friday, August 20, 2010.
“This training program is part of the overall efforts at the MTB aimed at improving the skills of frontline personnel working in the tourism sector,” said Director of Tourism, Ernestine Cassell, “so they can continue to offer the high quality of customer service and friendliness that Montserrat is known for.”
Director of Human Resources for the Barbados-based CTO, Mrs. Bonita Morgan, is serving as the facilitator for the training sessions. The content of the program covers customer service, tour guide techniques and communication skills.
