Miss Universe Jamaica – Kaci Fennell in South Florida and ready for 63rd annual MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant

SOUTH FLORIDA – On Wednesday, January 7, 2015 Lindell Douglas & Associates & Miss Jamaica Diaspora in collaboration with the Consulate General of Jamaica and the Jamaica Tourist Board held a welcome reception in honour of Ms. Kaci Fennell, Miss Universe Jamaica 2014 as she gets ready to compete in the 63rd annual MISS UNIVERSE® Pageant.

Fennell received a Proclamation from Broward County Commissioner, Dale V. C. Holness and from State Representation Hazelle Rogers.

BROWARD COUNTY

WHEREAS, the 63rd Annual staging of the Miss Universe pageant will be held in the City of Doral, Florida on January 25, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Jamaica will be represented by Miss Kaci Fennel, winner of Miss Jamaica Universe crown; and

WHEREAS, Kaci is a modern day supermodel and beauty queen with the charm and alluring old world soul of a classic Hollywood icon; and

WHEREAS, she started modeling at nineteen years and now at twenty-two, she is following her dreams and competing internationally; and

WHEREAS, this Kingston raised Caribbean girl is comfortable at home and abroad and she is an athletic adventurer, fun, loving explorer and fierce competitor; and

WHEREAS, Kaci has traveled various continents on modeling assignments and through this course has gained valuable experiences in self-improvement and personal development, qualities she feels have contributed to her tremendous growth as a woman and more wholesomeness as a human being; and

WHEREAS, with a baker as her mom, she is a foodie in every sense of the word and has used this background, her special culinary talents and her passion for teaching special education to children in need, to contribute significantly to the Jamaican charity, “Style For Change.”  Using her celebrity and her hands-on approach to caring for others, she has brought considerable attention to her projects, which has allowed her to raise much needed funds to fuel these initiatives and help her fellowmen in need; and

NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA:

            That the Board hereby designates Saturday, January 25, 2015, as “MISS KACI FENNEL APPRECIATION DAY” in Broward County, Florida.

 

With South Florida being home to many Jamaicans the reception gave Kaci an opportunity to thank her supporters.  She was joined by Miss Jamaica Florida, Deidre Malcolm and Miss Jamaica Diaspora, Kimar Muir.

The Pageant that will take place in Doral-Miami, and air live from Florida International University  on  NBC,  Sunday, Jan.   25 (8-11 p.m ET)
