Miramar Festival 2013 offers music, food and fun for all

MIRAMAR – The City of Miramar will host four free hours of music and family activities at the Miramar Festival on Saturday, April 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Shirley Branca Park, located at 6900 Miramar Parkway in Miramar.

Chico the Virgo from Hot 105 Radio will be the emcee for the festival which will feature live entertainment from country singers Taylor Renee & Lexi Luca, Adult Contemporary singer Shenita Hunt & band, R&B group Old Skool Gang, Reggae artists Code Red Band and Latin singer Laura Vivas & Remix. Also appearing will be the Christway Baptist Church Youth Choir and Miramar High Schools’ Sophisticated Sapphire Dancers.

Former Miami Dolphins players will be signing autographs:
o Bobby Harden, Chris Conlin, 4 to 5 p.m.
o Sean Hill, Ed Perry, 5 to 6 p.m.
o Elmer Bailey, James Brown, 6 to 7 p.m.
o Donald Brown, Ken Poole, 7 to 8 p.m.

Festival goers also will be treated to interactive video games, laser tag, face painting, inflatable rides and a kid’s zone.

A variety of food and novelty will be available for purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring folding chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities.
