Minority Businesses To Access a Wealth of Resources at 32nd Annual MED Week
Miami -The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Business Center in South Florida will present the 32nd Annual Minority Enterprise Development Week (MEDWeek 2014) and its Annual Business Matchmaker Conference and Awards Gala on October 16th and 17th, 2014.
The FIU Kovens Conference Center, North Miami, will host entrepreneurs, corporations, government agencies, career professionals and students from South Florida and across the country who will benefit from 2 days of business growth and supplier diversity information, and strategic networking events, culminating in a grand gala honoring business leaders in the Florida community.
Beginning on Thursday, October 16th at 8:00 AM, attendees will enjoy presentations by National Branding Expert Jay Leopardi of Bad Boy Branding, and Success Strategy Seminars on financing, business building and commercial and government contracting. There will be opportunities to learn about and access billions of dollars in large construction and other commercial and government projects seeking to connect and contract with small, minority, women, and service disabled veteran-owned businesses.
One of the major highlights of the event will be the “BizTank” Investment Competition, a nod to TV’s Shark Tank, where selected minority businesses will present their investment opportunities to millionaire investors (applications are currently being accepted at www.medweekflorida.org, deadline August 30). Day one events will end with a business-to-business matchmaker session where attendees will hear from National Procurement Guru, Shelby Scales of the Airport Minority Advisory Council, meet with corporate and government buyers, and network with other businesses.
The week’s grand finale will take place on Friday evening, with the 32nd annual MEDWeek Awards Gala honoring the 50 Most Powerful Minority Business Enterprises in South Florida.
“Minority businesses across Florida have benefited tremendously from the MBDA Business Center’ services, and events like MEDWeek for over three decades.
