Mighty Crown Sets Sail with the Marleys: Slated to Perform Alongside Reggae Heavyweights Sean Paul, Shaggy and More

New York – Mighty Crown will embark on an epic excursion October 20-25, 2014 as a major performing act on the 1st Annual “Welcome to Jamrock” Reggae-themed cruise, which is spearheaded by Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley. “The Far East Rulers,” according to their management, Irish and Chin, have been booked for over a year and are thrilled by the unique opportunity to provide travelers from all over the world with their infectious brand of Dancehall entertainment. Moreover, Mighty Crown is honored to be one of the few sound systems headlining the cruise, appearing alongside Reggae music heavyweights like The Marleys, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley and a host of other top tier acts.

“This is a great career opportunity and history in the making,” says Mighty Crown’s manager, Garfield “Chin” Bourne of Irish and Chin. “Simply put, it means our hard work is paying often…..we are honored that Mighty Crown is one of the few sounds chosen to headline the 1st Annual ‘Welcome to Jamrock Cruise’.”

The “Welcome to Jamrock Cruise” (sails from Miami, with stops in Montego Bay and Ocho Rios) offers Reggae music loving revelers 5 straight days of top level Reggae- themed events and entertainment, including exclusive concerts, day parties, soccer games, movie screenings and much more. Japan’s juggling and clash kings Mighty Crown will afford cruisers an unforgettable, authentic sound system experience, as they rock the Main Stage of the Norwegian “Pearl” for two nights.   During their first performance on Monday, October 20, 2014, Mighty Crown will share the stage with Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Julian “Juju Royal” Marley and legendary selector David Rodigan. Meanwhile, on Thursday, October 23, The Far East Rulers will perform alongside phenomenal acts including Sean Paul, Baby Cham and Wayne Marshall.

Irish and Chin Jamrock Cruise

The Marley hand-picked selection of Mighty Crown for the Reggae-inspired cruise speaks volumes to their pivotal position as an internationally-respected sound system and the key, historical role of sound systems in Reggae music. Other big league sounds joining Mighty Crown on the cruise include Stone Love, Sir David Rodigan and Renaissance.   The cruise, which sold out shortly after it’s announcement, will without a doubt make history! It not only represents the Marley’s expansion into travel and leisure, but also the first Reggae-themed cruise of such magnitude.

As this is Mighty Crown’s first cruise performance, the sound anticipates reaching a diverse, international audience, who share a genuine love for Reggae music. This could be the start of something big!  Mighty Crown is riding high off the success of their 19th Annual Yokohama Reggae SAI music festival, which drew a stadium-sized crowd. Top Japanese acts rocked the show, as well as special guest, “Reggae Royals” Morgan Heritage. There is no slowing down “The Far East Rulers!” Earlier this year, Crown enjoyed a highly successful European tour (an expansion of their infamous “Driving Force Tour”)  and will be back on the road this Thanksgiving with the return of “Money Pull Up” for six hardcore juggling action dates (U.S.) with Fire Links.

Notably, Mighty Crown also put on their production hat and scored from their first widely released “Love Feeling” riddim, which boasts extraordinary tunes from Wayne Wonder, Romain Virgo, Gappy Ranks and Super Chriss (of Japanese Dancehall act Fire Ball). By popular demand, a second wave of the release, which rivals the first, will hit the streets by year’s end. Not to mention, Red-hot Reggae mixes from Mighty Crown members Sami-T, Koji and Ninja (“Rasta Movement,” ‘Rootikal Warriah” and “Loaded) have been blazing through out the year!
