Miami: Upcoming Caribbean Trade Center’s Invest forum to focus on Guyana

MIAMI – Trade and Investment opportunities in Guyana will be the focus of Caribbean Trade Center’s Invest Guyana forum to be held on Thursday May 23, 2013 at the Firefighters Memorial Building 8000 NW 21st Street, in Doral, Florida.

This event is one in the INVEST SERIES being hosted by the Caribbean Trade Center in Florida during 2013. The event, being put on in conjunction with the Consulate of Guyana in Miami will focus on Guyana’s trade and investment opportunities. It will also feature the launching of INVEST Guyana, a publication of the Guyanese private sector.

Guyana, a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), boasts a vibrant private sector including foreign companies involved in a number of key sectors of the economy including mining, agri-business, tourism, hotel development, forestry, manufacturing and telecommunications/information technology.

“Guyana welcomes foreign investment in our economy and over the years has developed an investor friendly climate through appropriate legislation, investor concessions and our participation in a number of free trade agreements including the Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI) with the United States and similar arrangements with Canada, our CARICOM sister nations, Latin America and further afield,” says Honorary Consul Ramzan Roshanali.

“We also have a range of quality products in Guyana available for export and so we welcome this opportunity to work with the CTC on this Invest Guyana forum,” Roshanali said.

CARIBBEAN TRADE CENTER (CTC) works vigorously to develop business relations between Florida and the Caribbean region, and embraces a regional concept that also includes Caribbean Basin countries. We work closely with Consulates, Government agencies, Trade Development offices and other business organizations to identify the business and trade needs of potential business partners,” says CTC President Michael Matthews.

“ Through our extensive network and resources both in Florida and the Caribbean region, CTC provides unmatched resources to bring buyers and sellers of goods and services together. The Caribbean isn’t just a destination for fun in the sun, hospitality services and exotic beaches. It’s a vibrant business region, a natural commercial partner of Florida, tied closely together by geography, history, culture and logistics sharing a synergetic relationship. CTC realizes the importance of promoting the region’s trade, tourism and cultural dynamics as these sectors are the primary resources serving as economic engines for growth and regional prosperity.
