Miami Dolphins 7 on 7 Tournament Presented by Under Armour Set For June 12-14
SOUTH FLORIDA – The Miami Dolphins Youth Programs is excited to host the 8th annual 7 on 7 Tournament presented by Under Armour. The event begins on Friday, June 12 with a symposium focusing on character development and specific skill training. The character development portion includes guest speakers, including NFL players and coaches. The high school players will be taught practical life lessons and preparation for standardized tests, along with discussions on life after high school, personal development and community service.
The high school football tournament will begin on Saturday, June 13 at 8 a.m. The tournament will consist of Round Robin play and then move into a single elimination format. The final 8 teams will play on Sunday, June 14, resulting in one high school football champion. Four of the last five national championship winners have come from this tournament, including Booker T. Washington in 2014 and 2012, Glades Central in 2011 and Miami Jackson in 2010.
The youth tournament, which consists of three different age groups (8-10, 11-12 and 13-14), will begin at 2 p.m. The semi-finals and finals for all three age groups also will take place on Sunday running simultaneously along the high school tournament. There will be a total of 32 teams in the youth tournament, 16 will make it to Sunday where there will be three champions crowned.
