Miami, FL – Miami Carnival Inc. will be hosting is 21st Annual Carnival, on Sunday October 9, downtown Miami. In keep pace with the growing technology and Caribbean nationals on the web, Miami Carnival enhanced its web-site to be more resourceful for people wanting to know more about this years Carnival and host of events, www.miamicarnival.net.
“Last year was the 20th anniversary of the Miami Carnival and we wanted a site that would not only document that legacy but showcase all that is Miami which makes our carnival unique and special” explained Selman Lewis, the CEO of the Miami Carnival Inc.
The sights and sounds of the Caribbean-themed carnival are featured on the website as surfers are treated to an exclusive mix of this year’s hottest soca music including selections from Shurwayne Winchester, the reigning Road March King of Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival.
Winchester will be performing at the Carnival which takes place at Bicentennial Park, Downtown Miami on Sunday, October 9th. Several of the other artists featured on www.miamicarnival.net will also be performing including Machel Montano & Xtatik, Terry Gajraj and other top Caribbean artists.
Miamicarnival.net also provides a wide range of information including a complete calendar of events (both official and unofficial), hotel and travel packages, sponsorship and vendor opportunities and a list of mas bands for those interested in participating (in costume) in the parade.
The site, designed by Brad Tafa Hemmings of afiwi.com, is available in two versions; a multimedia rich version for broadband users and a HTML version for slower connections. Over ten thousand people logged on within days of the launch, many of them signing the guestbook. One such visitor who calls himself Rob wrote “Great site and very helpful, can’t wait for Carnival.”
