Manning to pass CARICOM Chair

ST. KITTS, Nevis – Outgoing CARICOM chairman and prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago Honorable Patrick Manning has said, “he is satisfied with the progress of the Caribbean Single Market – CSM”.

Prime Minister Manning who demits his CARICOM chair on June 30th has singled out the progress of the CSM and the imminent completion of arrangements for the Regional Development Fund as two aspects he felt most proud of during his tenure as CARICOM chairman.

The Trinidad leader further stated that the integration movement was strong and would intensify with completion of the Single Economy phase of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME).

The CARICOM Head shared his perspective on his tenure as CARICOM chairman during his official visit to Surinam earlier this month, ahead of the 27th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the CARICOM Community from July 3rd to 6th in St. Kitts Nevis.

Prime Minister of St. Kitts Nevis Honorable Denzil Douglas will be the next to assume the chairmanship of CARICOM.
