JN General Insurance Blazes Trail at MegaMart Kingston

KINGSTON, Jamaica – The new location opened Saturday, June 22, by JN General Insurance Company (JNGI) in MegaMart Kingston, on Upper Waterloo Road, represents two organizations coming together to serve their customers better, says Chris Hind, JNGI General Manager.

In a world, where increasingly customers have to talk to a machine, JNGI is bucking the trend and making more of its team available to work with customers face-to-face, Mr. Hind said. The new Kingston location is the 16th in the JNGI network.

“We share an ethos with MegaMart of putting our customers first and giving back to Jamaica,” the JNGI General Manager stated. “General Insurance is about trust and peace of mind. You work hard to acquire your valuable assets and we think you deserve to have experts available to you, at your convenience to assist you in arranging proper protection.”

“By going to Megamart, we have stepped outside of our own network, for the first time, to find our customers at their location of choice,” said Mr. Hind. “Thousands of Jamaicans shop there every day. Many of them need insurance and we want to make it available to them whilst they buy their groceries and the many other quality products and services offered by Megamart.”

One of Jamaica’s leading retail brands, MegaMart Clubs are located in Kingston, Portmore, Mandeville and Montego Bay. Mr. Hind said their Kingston customers will now be able to directly access JNGI’s insurance for their home, business and motor vehicle.

The micro-branch is located in a kiosk, offering privacy, comfort to its customers, with the security and convenience within the MegaMart location. He said, “It has an attractive physical location and offers good access to most residents in this area of St. Andrew.”

“This branch has a staff of customer service representatives who interact freely with MegaMart shoppers,” he said. “Advanced communications technology allows our staff to concentrate on customer needs, whilst normal branch back office work is carried out from JNGI’s main office on King Street in Kingston.”

Gassan Azan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, MegaMart Wholseale Club, said “the presence of JNGI providing general insurance services will certainly enrich the MegaMart shopping experience. Our customers have grown to appreciate the location of other service providers under our roof.”

“Jamaican companies will have to seize every opportunity to enhance survival and growth,” Mr. Azan said. He pointed out that the collaboration with JNGI and its parent, Jamaica National Building Society, offers the potential for cooperation in finding new ways to keep customers satisfied.

“The MegaMart location is our first branch in a supermarket,” said Kaysia Johnson Vaughan, Marketing and Sales Manager, JNGI. “We believe this offers the potential to reach many new customers, while adding to the appeal of the MegaMart shopping experience.”
