Jamaican Olympian and South Florida Residents to Stomp Out Hunger with Food For The Poor at T.Y. Park
COCONUT CREEK – Jamaican Olympic medal winner Yohan Blake will lead Food For The Poor’s 5K Walk/Run For Hunger on Saturday, Nov. 2, at 8 a.m. at T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park in Hollywood, Fla. Last year, approximately 1,000 participants were motivated to cross the finish line by Blake and Jason Martinez, co-anchor for WPLG-TV ABC Local 10 Morning News and Local 10 News at Noon.
Jamaica’s new Consul General to Miami, Franz Hall, and Jamaican Diaspora members are among those South Floridians that have pledged to walk or run to raise money to feed starving children in the Caribbean and Latin America.
