Jamaican Ministers of National Security and Justice To Visit the US

NEW YORK – The Jamaican Ministers of National Security and Justice, the Hon. Peter Bunting M.P. and Senator the Hon. Mark Golding, will be visiting the United States of America for a series of engagements between February 20 and 24, 2013.

The Ministers will be taking part in a Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday, February 20, in New York at the Freedom Hall Church of God, 629 Albany Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11203, starting at 6:30 p.m.

This will be followed on February 21, by an Evening with Ministers Bunting and Golding at the Silver Spring Civic Center, 1 Veterans Place, Silver Spring, Maryland, MD 20910, starting at 6 p.m. The Evening with the Ministers will take the form of two Jamaica 50 Lectures, the first on issues of National Security in Jamaica since Independence, and the second on issues of Justice in the country.

The presentations by both Ministers are part of the Jamaica 50 Lecture Series presented by the Jamaican Embassy in Washington D.C., and sponsored by the Jamaica National Building Society. Members of the public are invited.

On February 22, the Ministers, together with the Commissioner of Police Owen Ellington, will participate in a meeting with the Inter-American Dialogue group in Washington D.C. on Jamaican Government efforts to combat the Lotto Scam problem in the country. The Ministers are also expected to have meetings on the Lotto Scam issue with agencies of the United States Government.
