Jamaican Diaspora Southern U.S. to host post-conference community forum

Miramar– On Friday, July 21, 2006, 6pm-8pm, the Jamaican Diaspora Southern United States will convene a post-Biennial Conference organizational/informational Meeting at the ChristWay Baptist Church, 3800 S. Douglas Road, in Miramar Florida (www.christwaybaptist.org).

The purpose of the organizational meeting is to review the discussions and conclusions made at the recent Jamaican Diaspora Biennial Conference in Kingston, Jamaica and to discuss preliminary plans for organization, engagement and capacity-building for the Jamaican Diaspora Southern United States.

The meeting will welcome Consul General, Ricardo Allicock, members of the Mission staff and delegates from the 2004 and 2006 Conference from around the Southern United States region. The general public and other interested persons from the business community are also invited and encouraged to attend.

“As the newly-elected Diaspora Advisory Board Member, I am excited about the potential for building on our prior successes and the opportunity to hear directly from the community on the way forward.
