Jamaican author, Lorrimer Burford comes to Miramar to launch, “A Jamaican Storyteller’s Tale”
Miramar, FL – DeVry University in association with LMH Publishing, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Sunrise in Broward and New York based ad agency The Quantum Group will host a book launch for the phenomenal new book ‘A Jamaican Storyteller’s Tale’ by Jamaican author Lorrimer Burford on September 27 2005.
The book launching will be held at the DeVry-Miramar Campus located at, 2300 SW 145 Ave., Miramar.
The launch promises to be a spectacular event combining readings by the author, comedian Oliver Samuels and Winston Barnes, Vice Mayor of the City of Miramar.
The book has generated immense attention, debate and rave reviews since its launch in New York barely two months ago. Held at the Jamaican Consulate in Manhattan, The Hon. Basil Bryan Consul General of Jamaica enthusiastically participated in the inaugural launch as did Broadway actress Sharon King, actress Diane Dixon, PR guru Sharon Gordon, acclaimed photojournalist Donovan Gopie and many others in what was judged to be an evening worthy of being the unofficial start of Jamaica’s Independence celebrations in New York.
An unprecedented national academic scholarship has been created and will be awarded to a student of Jamaican/Caribbean heritage on behalf of the book, the Kiwanis of Great Sunrise and DeVry.
