Jamaica Wins Recommend Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards For Tenth Consecutive Year
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Jamaica has been recognized by Recommend magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards as “Choice Caribbean Destination” for the 10th consecutive year. This recognition from Recommend readers, comprising travel industry professionals, comes on the heels of yet another win for Jamaica which received 16 accolades at the annual World Travel Awards in London on November 8.
“Jamaica is honored to have been voted as Choice Caribbean Destination by Recommend readers for the last decade. This award is especially meaningful because it was selected by travel professionals,” said Jamaica’s Director of Tourism John Lynch. “Jamaica offers travelers a unique variety of accommodations, attractions, cuisine and culture. With six resort areas, two international airports, and accessibility from the U.S., Jamaica is an easy and appealing destination to sell.”
Recommend has consistently focused on editorially promoting the destination and travel product concept, which is the information that helps travel agents “sell” travel. It’s a formula that has proven itself successful for over 40 years in the marketplace.
The 13th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards survey was conducted electronically between August 15, 2009 and September 30, 2009. The survey was promoted via e-mail, Recommend magazine, Recommend Weekly and Recommend Spotlights. Over 1,050 travel agents and travel professionals responded, and winners were the destinations or travel products receiving the highest number of votes in each category.
