Jamaica has a new Prime Minister, Andrew Holness

KINGSTON, Jamaica – On Sunday, October 23, Jamaica sworn in it’s new Prime Minister, Andrew Holness.

Holness was sworn in as Jamaica’s youngest prime minister by Governor General Sir Patrick Allen at a special ceremony this afternoon at King’s House in front of about 4,000 guests including dignitaries, Members of Parliament, civic and business leaders.

Prime Minister Andrew Michael Holness promised to lead change in improving accountability in government and facilitating inclusiveness in the affairs of the nation. Holness also spoke about national debt, how the Government was seeking to streamline efficiency and maintaining fiscal discipline to spend and borrow only what it can afford.
