Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) under new leadership

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Paul Campbell has been elected as the new President of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA). The business executive won the election on Thursday, October 23 defeating West Indies fast bowling legend Courtney Walsh by three votes at the JCA’s annual general meeting and election of officers.

Campbell, a longstanding Vice President of the JCA, got 50 votes to Walsh’s 47. He will replace Jackie Hendriks, the former Jamaica and West Indies wicket-keeper. Hendriks is retiring from cricket administration after leading the JCA for the last 10 years in which he was a Director of the West Indies Cricket Board.

Campbell indicated that he was looking forward to “getting back to the hard work at hand”, and was willing to work closely with Walsh.
