Jamaica Business & Legal Link Town Hall 2007 Series scheduled to begin in South Florida in November

HOLLYWOOD – The Jamaica Business & Legal Link Town Hall 2007 Series is a series of free community outreach seminars developed to help the wider Jamaican-American communities receive needed and available services and information from Jamaica by professionals and their agencies, according to the project coordinator Vonnie McGowan.

The series will be presented in a town hall format with a question and answer session following the presentations as well as private consultations if needed.

The Jamaica Business & Legal Link Town Hall 2007 Series are scheduled to start on November, 2nd ending on November 11th 2007, in the following South Florida cities, Lauderdale Lakes, Miramar, Miami Gardens, West Palm Beach and throughout other Florida cities with a high concentration on Jamaicans including Palm Bay, Kissimmee, Port Charlotte, Port St Lucie, Belle Glades, and Orlando.

– Nov. 11: Council of the aged 2501 SW Bay Shore Blvd. Port St Lucie. 2:30-5:00 PM

Pesenters and participants include representatives from the Administrator General Department in Kingston and other agencies. Attorneys from Jamaica including Dawnette Craig Esq. former Deputy Administrator General of Jamaica, Attorney Keste Miller former Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, among others.

Matters of probate, wills, late name entry (deed poll) application and the acquisition of birth, marriage, and other certificates, land titles etc will be addressed. Matters of Immigration, and Citizenship will be addressed by Florida based Attorneys and their staff.

Other Services

A Jamaican passport renewal drive will be conducted and representatives of the Jamaica Consulate General will be on hand to assist in the application process.

Jamaica National Overseas Money Transfer staff members will be in attendance to address safe, convenient money transfer and remittances services to Jamaica and other destinations.

Mortgage bankers, realtors, building contractors, and other professionals are being invited to address those needs and will be available for private no obligation consultations.

Air Jamaica, the national airline will introduce special packages for retreats, family reunions, conventions and other travel related information and specials to Jamaica and the Caribbean.

Photographers will be present for persons needing passport and citizenship application required photographs; there will however be a charge for this service.

Members of Jamaica United Relief Association (JURA a 23 year old non profit 501c3 organization) will be present to collect donations of school supplies for shipment and distribution to schools in Jamaica that are still trying to recuperate from the devastation of the recent hurricane.
