Get Schooled in Reggae Consciousness with Herbie Miller

MIAMI The Miami-Dade Public Library System will be featuring an afternoon of art and reggae music on Saturday, January 20, at 2 p.m. with Herbie Miller at the Miami Dade County Main Library Auditorium, located at 101 W. Flagler Street downtown Miami.

Herbie Miller, a reggae historian, manager of the late reggae legend Peter Tosh and co-curator of the exhibition; Equal Rights: Reggae and Social Change, will lead a discussion on the history of reggae music and the way it’s being used to address worldwide political and social issues.

Traveling Exhibition

The Miami-Dade Public library will also launch Equal Rights: Reggae and Social Change, a traveling exhibition which runs January 11 – February 28, 2007.

Attendees will be able to enjoy music by the Millennium Band and a performance by Dub Poet, Malachi Smith.
