Family mediation company opens South Florida offices and plans national presence

MIAMI – On September 17, DivorceDoneRight, Inc. will begin a major media campaign in the greater Miami area to educate the public about the benefits of going to mediation before engaging in costly, traumatic litigation and leaving the decision-making to their lawyers and Judges.

In Florida, Judges require couples to go to mediation before going to trial.

DivorceDoneRight will encourage couples to go to mediation first, and benefit from its concept of a “Successful DivorceTM”, which helps couples resolve family conflicts and divorce in an amiable and cost-effective manner, usually within a few months.

Jon Ostroff, president and founder of DivorceDoneRight says, “The importance of resolving divorce in a peaceful manner has been receiving a growing amount of media attention, especially in regards to celebrity couples such as Bruce Willis and Demi Moore and Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley, who are able to put the needs of their children first. More and more couples are realizing that a split doesn’t have to devastate their family emotionally and financially.”

“Couples get divorced for a reason. Once it is clear that this is to be their path, the focus should turn to the present and to tomorrow. Divorce Litigation is all about yesterday. Separate households create more financial burden. Couples can avoid wasting money on lawyers’ fees and fighting in court. Mediation is about making tomorrow better.

If the split is civil today, parents can focus on getting themselves and their kids through the divorce. Parents can still enjoy sharing their kids’ birthdays, graduations and weddings. Rather than live in the past – which each spouse is getting divorced to escape – focus on tomorrow, which is the reason you’re getting divorced….so tomorrow can be better.” says Ostroff.

DivorceDoneRight will provide quality mediation services in the Miami/Dade and Ft. Lauderdale area. Miami offices are located in Aventura, Coral Gables (3 offices), Cutler Ridge, Dadeland, and Miami Lakes. Broward offices are located in Fort Lauderdale (2 offices), Hollywood, Pompano Beach, and West Fort Lauderdale on West Oakland Park Boulevard, with more offices being added. Bi-lingual intake specialists and mediators are available in many of these locations.

The company has 32 offices in the greater Philadelphia area and throughout New Jersey. DivorceDoneRight plans to open offices in other US cities over the next 18 months. Presently, DivorceDoneRight is the largest family mediation company in the United States and the first to engage in broad-based marketing with a television and radio campaign.

Mediation is intended to promote decision-making, where each side has an opportunity to be heard. The mediator’s role is to facilitate and guide the process by supporting communication and helping couples to get beyond the conflict. “Nobody comes to us holding hands” says Ostroff, “but our clients are amazed at how effective our mediators are at helping them get beyond their past and focus on options, solutions and resolution for the future.”

Parties can choose to mediate with or without attorneys. If they start without counsel, they can consult or appear with counsel at any time.

The styles of mediation used at Divorce Done Right allow divorcing couples to remain in control of their divorce, rather than relying on Judges and lawyers to be in charge of their very personal family decisions. Couples get a golden opportunity to gain clarity and resolve their divorce, with less pain, cost and time. In most cases, couples are able to resolve all issues of their divorce in a few months.

Divorce Done Right offers mediation for the entire spectrum of family disputes. Divorcing couples can mediate custody, distribution of assets, alimony, child support and any other issues that they choose to address. Parents who never married can use mediation to address custody issues. Same-sex couples can use mediation to address the myriad of issues that arise in dissolving their relationship.

Ostroff adds, “Even after the divorce is over, couples can come for the first time or if already clients, they can return to Divorce Done Right, to address new issues as they arise.”

“I’ve spent my career as an attorney fighting for one side,” Ostroff says. “Personally, I endured two and a half years of contentious divorce litigation, only to have our entire divorce resolved with only two months of mediation. I felt compelled to help other families avoid what each of us and our kids went through. The more we fought in court, the more we lost, and our lawyers won. Now, through our experienced, committed mediators, I can help both sides win.”
