Apple Aventura hosts “Black Resistance Through Art” programming for Black History Month
February 10, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - February 26, 2023 @ 4:00 pm
FreeTo celebrate Black History Month, Apple is hosting Today at Apple sessions across the country focused on the theme of “Black Resistance Through Art,” with Miami sessions at Apple Aventura taking place from February 10-26.
Inspired by the vast African diaspora, the sessions will be led by emerging Black creators pushing boundaries in the arts, including a Live Art painting session with local artist, poet, and Afro-Latina entrepreneur Reyna Noriega, an exclusive Black storytelling session with photographer Terence C. Price II, and a performance by musical duo, PAPERWATER.
Event details:
- February 10 — Apple Aventura @ 7:00 PM: Exclusive Black Storytelling with Terence C. Price II, an artist who emerges from a tradition of mid-twentieth-century street photography, capturing the world around him in evocative portraits and cinematic snapshots.
- February 24 — Apple Aventura @ 7:00 PM: Performance by PAPERWATER, a pop duo with sound that flows from heavy soul, house, to lofi love.
- February 26 — Apple Aventura @ 3:00 PM: Live Art and a Conversation with Reyna Noriega, an intimate session with visual artist and author, Reyna Noriega, who aims not to be a voice for the voiceless, but rather lead them to feel empowered using their own voice.
