Emerald Dunes Golf Club of Florida Leads Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am “Annie’s Revenge” After Round One
MONTEGO BAY, JAMAICA – The ninth annual Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am “Annie’s Revenge”, presented by Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum teed off at two of Jamaica’s best golf courses Cinnamon Hill and White Witch on Thursday, October 30 with approximately 20 teams from the United States and Jamaica vying for top honors.
“We are pleased to welcome a number of new players this year in addition to our returning golf clubs as we seek to grow this event,” said Tom Jaronski, Tournament Director and President of The Golf Connection LLC. “We also welcome the continued support of our partners which continue to enhance the tournament for our participants and guests, making Annie’s Revenge different from other destination pro-ams.”
At the close of play on Day One of the three round tournament, Emerald Dunes Golf Club of Florida lead the 54-hole event with a score of 120, two best ball net. Tied for second at White Witch with 123 are Roundout Golf Club of New York and Howell Park Golf Club from New Jersey. CC of New Canaan in Connecticut, trail by two strokes with 125.
Over at Cinnamon Hill, Forest Heights CC #2 from Georgia lead with 122, followed by Hidden Valley Golf Club from California and Tryall Club from Montego Bay tied for second with a score of 123, followed by Forest Heights CC #1 and CC of New Bedford from Massachusetts just two strokes back with 125.
The three round event uses the two best ball net format, and continues through the weekend, culminating with the championship round on Saturday, November 1, 2014.
A feature of this year’s tournament is the Appleton Estate Shootout at Annie’s Revenge, which is a 36-hole, par-3 tournament contested over four specific par-3 holes only, two on each course, during rounds 1 and 2. The team competition is based on the two best balls format, while the individual competition and will utilize the low gross and net format.
The Jamaica Invitational Pro-Am, presented by Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum is managed by The Golf Connection LLC with the support of the Jamaica Tourist Board, Cobra Puma Golf (official apparel and golf equipment), Bridgestone Golf (official ball), Jamaica Tours Limited (official transportation provider), Chukka Caribbean Adventures (official adventure tour), and Iberostar Hotels & Resorts (official hotel).
