Dr Smith Joseph to be inducted as next Mayor, City of North Miami
NORTH MIAMI – Tuesday November 4th, 2014 Dr. Smith Joseph won over Former Mayor Kevin Burns in a run-off with 55% of the votes. Mayor elect Joseph’s induction ceremony is Wednesday November 12th at 6:00pm in front of Museum of Contemporary Art (MoCA) 770 NE 125thSt. North Miami Florida 33161.
Joseph, new to the political arena has strategized a plan to bring the city together as evidenced by the diversity of support in his campaign.
As the new Mayor elect, Joseph pledged to unite the city, collaborate with council and city manager to keep the city of North Miami moving forward. For the next seven (7) months, Joseph will listen to residents’concerns as he works tirelessly to improve the quality of life of all residents.
Dr. Smith Joseph is a medical professional in the city of North Miami;Joseph’s leadership prowess has been in managing his medical clinicUniversal Medical Centre, while serving on several boards in North Miami. Joseph organized and led a march for Trayvon Martin march in Miami-Dade County in March 2012 for the North Miami area and has participated in multiple medical missions in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
Joseph speaks 4 (four) languages fluently: English, French, Spanish and Creole. He got his associate degree from Miami Dade College and his degree in pharmacy and doctorate from FAMU (Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University). While working as a pharmacist at Walgreens Joseph enrolled in Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine graduating with a Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Grady Memorial Hospital/Morehouse School of Medicine, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Joseph is married to a practicing attorney, Patricia Saintvil-Joseph with three beautiful children.
