Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall Voted First African-American Woman Vice Chair For Miami Dade Schools

MIAMI-DADE – Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall, School Board Member for District 2, has been elected Vice Chair of the Miami Dade Schools at the annual Organizational Meeting held on Tuesday, November 17.

This appointment makes Dr. Dorothy Bendross-Mindingall the first African-American woman in Miami-Dade County Public Schools to be chosen for the position. 

“I am truly honored to serve in this position and thank my fellow School Board members for their support. We are all capable of serving in leadership and I thank them for allowing my name to be called next. I am honored to serve alongside such a dynamic group of individuals, the Superintendent and staff to further the educational lives of our students. See you on the journey.”
