Bahamas Student, Hezrona Moxyz-Currie Selected as a National Society of High School Scholar

FORT LAUDERDALE – Gifted, determined and with an indomitable spirit to excel against all odds, is what Hezrona Moxyz-Currie is and does daily.  The future lawyer and passionate advocate, who despite health challenges, has consistently demonstrated a strong desire to succeed and make a positive difference in her community.

The 13 year old, 10th grader who hails from The Bahamas and attends Fort Lauderdale High school, an A+ rated, pre-law and public affairs magnet school was recently selected and recognized by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) organization for her superior academic achievement, leadership, scholarship and community commitment.

The recognition is awarded to students nationally in the United States, who ranks among the top 10% in their schools, and maintains a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Hezrona, who has a current weighted 5.2 GPA, is a pre-law, Cambridge International magnet student pursuing the Advance International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma program. 

The AICE diploma, is the highest and most prestigious designation, awarded to students at graduation, and affords them career and academic opportunities to receive the nation’s top scholarships at prestigious Ivy League colleges and universities. 

The former student of Temple Christian Primary School (Nassau, Bahamas) and Sawgrass Springs Elementary (in Coral Springs), Hezrona has received numerous awards including President’s (Donald Trump) Education Award for Excellence. The certified Microsoft Office Specialist and math tutor, who has already successfully completed two Cambridge college classes, has competed against hundreds nationally at the 2017 National Speech and Debate Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama and is also a member of her school’s Environmental Club, Bloom, Mock Trial, debate team, National English Honors Society and National Honors Society clubs.
