Delta Air Lines Provides Flight Schedule Through Winter Season to US Virgin Islands

U.S. Virgin Islands – Delta Air Lines has shared with The Department of Tourism their updated flight schedules to be implemented from late summer through the end of the 2012 peak winter season.

As is customary each year to account for the annual dip in demand during the Fall period, Delta Air Lines will transition to its off-season schedule later this month. As a result, beginning August 14, Delta Air Lines will reduce its service from Atlanta to St. Thomas and St. Croix in accordance with the below schedule.

St. Thomas will begin to see an increase in service from Atlanta after Labor Day while service to St. Croix from Atlanta will recommence in December. Additionally, Delta service between New York (JFK) and St. Thomas will be offered only during peak times throughout the fall and winter months as noted on the schedule below.

“We’ve been very fortunate to experience growth in overnight arrivals without being bound by the revenue-guarantees that are prevalent in the region,” said Tourism Commissioner Beverly Nicholson-Doty. “We remain committed to strengthening our relationships and marketing initiatives for business and airlift development while mitigating the short-term effects of seasonal capacity reductions.”
