Crowley Announces Furthered Expansion in the Caribbean through the Addition of Logistics Services in St. Maarten

MIAMI – Crowley Maritime Corporation’s logistics group announced today that it has expanded its Caribbean services with new less-than-containerload (LCL) cargo transportation to St. Maarten via Crowley’s Miami distribution center, which will now serve as a cargo arrival and departure service point.

Though Crowley already provides regularly scheduled, full containerload (FCL) services from the U.S., as well as logistics services from Puerto Rico to St. Maarten, this new offering will further enhance supply chain options for those shipping directly into St. Maarten from the U.S., as well for as those customers who use the island as a transshipment point.

Through on-island representation by South Atlantic Shipping (Intramar), Crowley’s logistics group will now provide customers a single point of contact for LCL cargo transportation to and from the Caribbean island, furthering the customer value proposition with services that include: full and less-than-containerload, ocean and air consolidation and shipping; warehousing; domestic pick-up and delivery of cargo within the U.S.; marine cargo insurance; freight forwarding and documentation.

In addition to the new direct LCL service from Miami, St. Maarten will now also serve as a global connectivity point to the smaller Caribbean basin markets of Montserrat, Anguilla, Saba, St. Barts and St. Eustatius and even internationally to Asia.

“The addition of these services to St. Maarten allows Crowley to now provide customers with a greater breadth of service offerings in the Caribbean region,” said Carlos Rice, vice president, logistics. “We pride ourselves in our ability to act as a one-stop shop alternative and for our ability to trade effectively regionally and globally.”

In addition to Intramar, Crowley has also hired Ralph Remi to serve as the sales representative for the island. Remy may be contacted directly at 721-520-8589. The booking and traffic procedures for this region remain unchanged. For these services, customers should continue to contact Ana Rocas, director, logistics operations; Neysa Cambo, manager, logistics; Mariela Menendez, supervisor, freight services or Jesus Condomina, director, sales and marketing by calling 305-463-4800.
