Community rallies to help find missing teen – Naketa Leiba

MIRAMAR – The South Florida Jamaican community and others have been rallying to help find missing teen, Naketa Leiba, 17, who was last seen getting off her school bus on Wednesday (Feb. 1) afternoon in Miramar near the 6800 block of Southwest 34th Street by Annabel C. Perry Elementary School.

Friends and family members were handing out fliers Saturday morning in the hopes of finding leads in Naketa’s disappearance after a broadcast appeal was made Friday afternoon on WAVS 1170AM radio with on-air personality, “C-Roy The Entertainer” and Naketa’s parents Michael and Sharon Leiba.

Her parents say Naketa had no reason to run away.

“I know in my heart that she didn’t run away,” Sharon said. “Someone have her and whoever have her is holding her against her will.”

“I’m trying to remain positive,” Sharon Leiba said. “I just really want my daughter to come home.”

Naketa’s father, Michael, says he can’t eat or sleep.

“Every time I put down my head, I hear her screaming in my head,” he said.
