Clarendon College Alumni Association Inc. – South Florida Chapter pay tribute to Alumns
FT.LAUDERDALE – The Clarendon College Alumni Association Inc. – South Florida Chapter had a great time at there10th Annual Ball held last week Saturday, August 30th at the Inverrary Plaza Resort.
They were entertained by the singer Cha’Maine, and Clarendon College Alum, Jackie McKenzie who recited 2 of Ms Lou’s poems (with updated references to our latest Olympians), and the dancers from One Touch rocked the crowd to the sounds of the Rev Jackie McCullough’s gospel music.
Honorees
The honorees were ancillary workers, Matron Jasmine Black, Mrs Una Bailey (cook), and Mr Lloyd Walters (bus driver). Mr. Evan Jackson (who died a few years ago), general contractor was also honored posthumously
A former past student, Henry Latham who died in 2007 was honored posthumously as a true proponent of school spirit.
The Newton ‘Archie’ Warmington scholarship fund was launched, a scholarship dedicated to supporting graduates of Clarendon College who are pursuing further education in the field of health sciences.
C-Roy the Entertainer rocked the dance floor till 3am, and there was not a dry shirt in the room. As usual, the CC crowd was on the floor as soon as the first note sounded, and they ended the night dancing in a circle to “We are family” and the traditional ‘One Love’, while passing the Jamaican flag from one past student to another.
