City Of Miramar unveils its new Cultural Center/Artspark with residents’ diversity in mind

MIRAMAR – The City of Miramar will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the unveiling of the new Miramar Cultural Center/ArtsPark located at 2400 Civic Center Place, Miramar on Saturday, December 6th, 2008 at 4:00 P.M.

The event is free and open to the public and is part of daylong events that include a Holiday illumination tree lighting ceremony by City of Miramar officials.

The Cultural Center includes an 800-seat theater, a banquet hall, two art galleries, a botanical garden, and art & education studios. The public will also have an opportunity to view a live show as well as purchase tickets to some of the exciting upcoming shows and events slated for 2009 at the Cultural Center Box Office from 3:00 to 9:00 P.M.

The City of Miramar continues to break new ground with the opening of the Cultural Center/ArtsPark. Attracting renowned artists such as Tony Award Winner Melba Moore, and actress JoMarie Payton recently for a reception honoring JEBA Media Group, Inc. and the Urban Theater Festival Awards, the Center is quickly becoming a mecca for the arts and community events.

Regular programming begins in January 2009 with the Florida Sunshine Pops and Gold Coast Opera performances, the Family Fun Series which includes Cinderella, School House Rock, The Great Alphabet Adventure and Junie B. Jones; Political Satire with Capitol Steps, and The Spencers’ Theatre of Illusion and more.

The Cultural Center is billed as the City’s jewel for the arts and community events alike, and will serve as a gathering place for Miramar’s residents and visitors to both showcase and view events and shows as diverse as its residents.
