Citigroup names Catalina Herrera as new CCO for Trinidad & Tobago Hub

Port of Spain, Trinidad – Citi announced the appointment of Catalina Herrera as Citi Country Officer (CCO) for the Trinidad & Tobago Hub, which includes Barbados and the Institutional Clients Group (ICG) business in Bahamas. This appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Mrs. Herrera replaces Dennis Evans in his capacity as CCO of Citi’s Trinidad & Tobago Hub. Mr. Evans has taken on a regional leadership role, responsible for Citi’s Caribbean Cluster, which includes the franchises in Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and the Trinidad & Tobago Hub. As CCO of Trinidad, Mrs. Herrera will report to Dennis Evans.

“Catalina is a veteran of Citi with more than 24 years of experience in the organization, and we are pleased to count on her expertise in Trinidad. We are certain she will further expand our presence in the country and continue building strong client and stakeholder relationships, while driving growth,” said Evans.

In her new role, Mrs. Herrera will lead the Corporate and Investment Banking business in the country, maintaining the highest standards of service and value to its clients, backed by a talented and committed team.

With more than 40 years of operating in the country, Citi Trinidad & Tobago has participated in projects that have positively contributed to the development of the country. This year, Euromoney magazine recognized Citi as the Best Investment Bank in the Caribbean, and locally as the Largest FX Bank in Trinidad & Tobago and #1 Bank in Foreign Exchange for Corporates in the country.

Mrs. Herrera, whose appointment is effective September 1, most recently served as Citi Colombia Transaction Services Head. She joined Citi Colombia in 1989, and has held various roles during her tenure in the bank, including Capital Markets Head, Country Treasurer, Public Sector Head and Financial Institutions Head for Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru.
