CEO of Jamaica Registrar General Department confirms attendance and participation at JBLL 2007 seminars in South Florida

MIRAMAR – Dr. Patricia Holness, CEO of Jamaica’s Registrars General Department will join the already in progress series of Jamaica Business & Legal Link (JBLL) Town Hall meetings participating from November 9th to November 11th 2007,in Miramar, Miami Gardens and Port St Lucie, Florida.

Dr. Holness will join Local Florida Attorneys Paula D’Aguilar Esq, David Rowe Esq, Junior Farquharson Esq., The Law offices of Rose Marie Robinson and preeminent Immigration Attorney Roger Bernstein, formerly of USCIS/DHS Miami now in private practice.

Dawnette Craig Esq. former Deputy Administrator General of Jamaica (now in private practice)along with Ms Ingrid Cole, and Ms Ava Dean Martin members of staff of the Administrator General Department, Kingston will volunteer their services and share information on various subjects in cities throughout Southern Florida.

In an effort to provide professional services to Jamaican residents in these areas who are otherwise unable to readily access vital services and information.

These meetings spearheaded by Vonnie McGowan of McGowan Arscott & Associates and Jamaica United Relief Association have partnered with various municipalities, community organizations, churches, and corporate entities is an ongoing effort to conduct a series of information seminars, Passport renewal services, citizenship and voters registration drives since 1998.

The City clerk offices of both The City of Miramar and The City Lauderdale Lakes will be conducting United States Passport renewals and taking new applications on behalf of the United States passport services.

Jamaican born Commissioners Fitzroy Salesman of Miramar and Hazelle Rogers of Lauderdale Lakes, assisted in the providing of city venues in their respective cities.

Voter registration services will also be provided in Broward County by The Broward Supervisor of Elections.

Various professionals including Neville Sharpe of Mortgage Capital of America, Aston Douglas of ING Financial Partners, Mrs. Carmen Bartlett and Leo Montieth of Jamaica National Overseas Money Transfer Services, Mrs. Dawn Linton of DLinton & Associates have confirmed their participation and will provide information on services offered by their respective companies.

Community volunteers will assist applicants in the completion of United States Citizenship applications and Jamaican Passport renewal application forms.

This will be an on going series and the team has forward plans to visit various communities in the South Eastern United States in an effort to provide much needed services to Jamaican Nationals in the region.
