LAUDERDALE – Veteran Caribbean tourism marketer and Managing Partner of RM Marketing Solutions, Richard Lue has joined forces with South Florida based, radio professional, Sir Rockwell to launch a series of bi-weekly travel & leisure talk shows on Rockwell’s Internet radio station, www.rockdabox.net
The program titled “Da Travel & Leisure” will be launched on the one year anniversary of
Rockdabox.net. “I have spent the last year building a world-wide listenership” says Rockwell in a recent interview, “Now it is time for us to diversify our programming and Richard is the perfect fit, his years spent in Caribbean Travel, tourism and entertainment makes him uniquely qualified to host this type of show.” Discussions between Lue and Rockwell regarding this show began 6 months ago and the decision was made that Lue would focus on the development of the segment while Rockwell would ensure that the station was up and running smoothly before embarking on this venture.
Rockdabox.net began its programming last February with a format that focused on Caribbean music, music that Caribbean listeners enjoy coupled with some of the most interesting discussions and Artist interviews. The station operates 24 hours and attracts a listenership of up to 20,000 world-wide during the 7-10pm ET time slot that is hosted by Rockwell himself.
“Da Travel & Leisure” will feature information on Caribbean destinations, hotels and attractions while giving tips of how to make you travel enjoyable wherever you decide to go. “We will have special guests from tourist boards, wedding planners, cruise specialists and much more. Our aim is to educate the listener about Caribbean travel” states Lue. “I am very excited to have a medium to pass on information that I get asked everyday”.

“Interactive” is the key component for the one-hour show, listeners will be invited to e-mail topics that they would like hear covered or questions that they would like answered about Caribbean travel. “Very few have the knowledge base and the resources like Richard” boasts Rockwell. Lue, who spent 13 years with the Jamaica Tourist Board and 13 years in various positions with Air Jamaica including General Manager Marketing and Sales for the Caribbean, says that along with travel, the show will also cover food and entertainment like the variety of Carnivals in the region.
Another unique twist to the segment will be a recurring feature focusing on things that Caribbean nationals enjoy doing when travelling outside of the region, like Caribbean favorites in New York, London and Toronto. The duo will also be seeking out Caribbean nationals residing in the most unlikely places throughout the world to have them tell their story.
