Caribbean-Owned Charter School, Balere Language Academy In Miami Opens 2011 School Year With a FCAT “A” Rating
Miami – This month, Balere Language Academy will open the 2011 school year with renewed hope and energy after receiving the highest FCAT rating with an “A” grade in the previous school year. Despite the challenges and pressures of raising its former sub-standard grade and other administrative challenges, Balere Language Academy welcomes parents and students to its South Miami Heights inner-city charter school campus to pursue the highest standards of educational instruction for students 5 to 12 years of age.
“Today, like the graffiti art that brightens the walls of the school’s playground, Balere’s future is once again vivid. The school is now an “A” rated school and the district has renewed its commitment to excellence at Balere. The school will be open as usual this school year. There is an emboldened sense of excitement and energy in sustaining our A school profile.” said Rocka Malik, the schools founder. “We are Stevie Wonder overjoyed with the hard-work that students and staff put in last year and it’s proof that hard-work and determination always pays off, always”, she added.
Balere is once again on track to fulfilling its mission statement and providing a strong education to its students through certified teachers and its strong bilingual curriculum.
The school offers its students perks like free Saturday morning tutoring and an extended learning day (8am to 3:30pm). Parents also get a few perks at the school such as online grade book with 24-hour parental access. This year Balere welcomes KG to 8th graders to its 6-acre academic campus, which is hosting a “Meet the Teacher” day on August 19 from 11am to 1pm.
