Caribbean Bar Association Gala Highlights Caribbean Region and showcases the Carnival Experience
Featuring Carnival/Cultural presentations from Trinidad & Tobago, Haiti, Jamaica, Barbados, and the Bahamas
Miami, FL – The Caribbean Bar Association (“CBA”) will highlight the rich history, diversity and culture of the Caribbean region at its annual scholarship gala, when it showcases the Carnival experience.
The Ninth Annual Scholarship Gala will be held on Saturday September 10, 2005 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, starting with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., and followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. MC for the evening will be Mike Andrews of WVCG 1080AM.
Honorees:
Commissioner Hazelle Rogers of Lauderdale Lakes – for her outstanding leadership in Lauderdale Lakes and the Broward County League of Cities
Grace Kennedy & Company Limited – corporate citizenship award in recognition of its support for hurricane relief throughout the Caribbean, and also in recognition of its Birthright programme, aimed at reconnecting Jamaican-Americans with their ancestral homeland
Rodney Baltimore, radio announcer at HOT105 radio station will also be honored for his contributions to the Caribbean community in South Florida.
