Caribbean Bar Association Empowers Young Readers at AARLCC

FT. LAUDERDALE – On Wednesday, August 27 at 10:30 a.m., an attorney from the Caribbean Bar Association (CBA) will read to preschool children during a presentation and story time at the African-American Research Library and Cultural Center (AARLCC).

During this event, the CBA will donate $1,500 to the African American Research Library and Cultural Center’s Donation Trust Account, which will be used to purchase books for the AARLCC’s African American book collection.

This donation is part of the CBA’s Young Readers Program that also involves monthly readings by young CBA lawyers to groups of students at the AARLCC.

The Caribbean Bar Association (CBA) is a voluntary bar organization based in South and Central Florida. During the past 14 years, the CBA has furthered its annual mission of informing, educating and empowering its members and the local South Florida community through its minority scholarship programs for law and high school students, mentoring and community outreach initiatives, and continuing legal education and networking events.

These programs have increased the educational and career opportunities for members of our community, and provided our membership base of lawyers, law students and other professionals with invaluable resources for professional development.

The African-American Research Library and Cultural Center is located at 2650 Sistrunk Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, and on the Internet at www.broward.org/library/aarlcc.htm.
