Caribbean-Americans In South Florida Among Legacy Magazine’s 50 Most Powerful African Americans
MIAMI – Legacy Magazine and Publisher Dexter Bridgeman salute 50 of South Florida’s most powerful Black businessmen and women May 17th and 18th during a specially crafted ‘staycation’ weekend networking getaway at the Bonaventure Resort & Spa in Weston, Florida.
The weekend is designed to be a break from the typical awards ceremonies and includes events for these high functioning executives to indulge in a relaxing weekend stay while celebrating their professional accomplishments.
Attendees are encouraged to stay for the weekend but Legacy is also offering an option for those who want to simply pop in for the ‘Say It Loud’ Power Pool Party on Friday or make a date for the uber-glamorous ‘Honoree Gala’ Saturday night.
For the past 10 years Legacy Magazine has been honoring the achievements of South Florida Blacks in various forms. ’40 Under 40 Leaders of Today and Tomorrow’, “Top 25 most successful Black Women”, ‘Black History Month Honors’, and Legacy’s ’50 Most Powerful’ are just a few of the annual events.

“The idea for the weekend is to allow these “affluencers” a chance to be honored in a unique fashion…with a little rest and relaxation with like-minded and similarly accomplished colleagues. At the same time, it gives aspiring businesspeople a chance to connect and network with Legacy’s Top 50 in a casual environment”, noted Dexter Bridgeman, Founder/Publisher of Legacy Magazine.

Willard Fair, President of the Urban League of Greater Miami, Damita Salters, Vice President and Consumer Market Manager for Bank of America, Stacey Oddman, Chief of Family Medicine at Holy Cross Hospital, Bill Diggs, President & CEO Miami Dade Chamber of Commerce, Franklin Adderly, Fort Lauderdale Police Chief, Brodes Hartley, CEO Community Health of South Florida and Denise Barrett Johnson, Principal at Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School and Miami Dade County Public Schools 2013 Vice Principal of the Year.
