LAUDERDALE LAKES – On the day that she officially opened her Campaign Office located at 4163 North State Road 7, Lauderdale Lakes Commissioner Hazelle Rogers accomplished her most important feat of this election campaign as the incumbent State Representative Matt Meadows personally attended and in resounding spirit and language endorsed her to replace him in the State Legislature.

“I am endorsing her for the job because she is the most qualified and the most committed”- Matt Meadows

Representative Meadows in his address to over seventy five enthusiastic aides, supporters and other supporting elected officials stated, “I am endorsing Commissioner Rogers because I have looked at her over a long period of time and have watched with admiration as she has grown in stature as she represented her constituents. I am doing this because she is the best person for the job and the most committed to serving”.

In addition to Representative Meadows, Broward County Commissioner Josephus Eggelletion, Jr. also addressed the enthusiastic group adding his endorsement to the growing list of important endorsements Commissioner Rogers is beginning to secure. He too reaffirmed his confidence in her ability to represent the District well and acknowledged that he has had confidence in her ability to perform that is why he has appointed her to the Parks Advisory Board and other agencies in Broward County.

Also in attendance was a representative of Commissioner Illene Lieberman’s Office, Commissioner Astor Knight of Southwest Ranches and Commissioner Levoyd Williams of Lauderdale Lakes.

In her address to the attendees, Commissioner Rogers affirmed her commitment to serve and outlined her campaign message. Her focus she said “would be on Education, Health Care, Economic Development and Housing”. “The increasing numbers of foreclosures and the impact of property tax changes on education and other services are having a devastating effect on the local economy. We must also consider the constantly rising cost of gas.

These are the most important challenges facing me in Tallahassee and I am up to that challenge” she stated.
