Caribbean Airlines adds eighth Boeing 737-800 to fleet

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Caribbean Airlines, Ltd., will add an additional Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its operating fleet effective November 15, 2008 allowing the airline to increase flight frequency, meet market demands and deliver more flying options for the upcoming peak travel periods.

”Adding an eighth Boeing 737-800 aircraft into our fleet further demonstrates Caribbean Airlines’ positive growth during a time when other carriers are pulling back service,” said Caribbean Airlines CEO Philip Saunders. “We are committed to growing in an incremental, responsible manner and this enhancement allows Caribbean Airlines an opportunity to provide our customers with more chances to fly to our existing markets during the upcoming holiday and Carnival seasons.”

With the enhanced fleet, Caribbean Airlines will provide the following services:

• Two daily non-stop flights between Trinidad and Toronto, Canada.

• Three flights a day, except on Thursdays when there will be two flights, between Trinidad and New York, USA, for a total of 20 weekly flights, which will increase to 25 weekly flights during the Christmas and Carnival peak times.

• Daily non-stop flights between Trinidad and Paramaribo, Suriname.

• Two new weekly non-stop flights between Trinidad and Kingston, Jamaica, during the peak travel seasons augmenting the current daily service.

• Continuation of daily non-stop flights between Trinidad and Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, maintaining Caribbean Airlines’ position as the carrier with the most convenient services between South Florida and Trinidad.

• Additional connecting opportunities to and from Guyana and Suriname from North America through the Trinidad regional hub.

“The strategic integration of the additional aircraft gives Caribbean Airlines even more flexibility and agility to strengthen our position of leadership in key markets, gain momentum in growing our customer base, and explore potential new routes,” Saunders said.

The additional aircraft will bring Caribbean Airlines’ fleet to a total of 13 aircraft: eight Boeing 737-800 and five Dash-8 300 aircraft.
