Broward County’s Deadline to request absentee ballot – August 8

Broward County – The Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office would like to inform voters that Wednesday, August 8, 2012 is the last day that a voter can request that an absentee ballot be mailed to them.

Once the voter has received his or her absentee ballot, we remind them to keep the following in mind:

• Ballots can be mailed or hand delivered to the Elections office. 115 S. Andrews Avenue, Room 102 in Fort Lauderdale or at our Voting Equipment Center 1501 N. State Road 7 in Lauderhill.
• Ensure that the ballot has enough postage. Postage for your ballot is $1.10 if you have voted before, and $1.30 if this is your first time voting due to the fact that a copy of your Driver’s License must be included.
• Remember to sign beside the big red “X” on the voter certificate which is on the envelope of the absentee ballot. In past elections, some ballots could not be accepted because the voter neglected to sign the voter certificate.
• Each voter household has received a sample ballot. The sample ballot will help you prepare to vote your absentee ballot for the Primary Election.
• Absentee ballots must be in the possession of the Broward Supervisor of Elections by 7:00 p.m. on August 14, 2012 election night. Postmarks are not accepted.

Also, to provide convenience voting, starting the week of Early Voting, the office will provide absentee voting drop-off sites. Voters can take their absentee ballot to the election’s mobile office known as the “Election Connection” at the areas mentioned below:
