Broward County absentee ballotts go out Oct. 1

Broward County – The Broward County Supervisor of Elections Office confirmed that over 75,000 absentee ballots will be going out in the mail on October 1st. Once the voter has received his or her ballot, we remind them to keep the following in mind:

· Vote on both sides of the paper ballot.

· Ballots can be mailed or hand delivered to the Elections office. Ensure that the ballot has enough postage. Postage for your ballot is $1.22

· Remember to sign the voter certificate which is on the envelope of the absentee ballot. In past elections, some ballots could not be accepted because the voter neglected to sign it.

· Each voter household will be receiving shortly a sample ballot. The sample ballot will help you prepare to vote in the General Election.

· Absentee ballots must be in the possession of the Broward Supervisor of Elections by 7:00 p.m. on election night. Post marks are not accepted.

Also, to provide convenience voting, starting next week the office will provide absentee voting drop-off sites.
