A Rivalry Renewed at the 11th Annual True Blue Weekend in South Florida March 13th -15th, 2015

SOUTH FLORIDA – True Blue Committee presents True Blue Weekend taking place throughout South Florida. Hosted by St. George’s College Old Boys’ Association of Florida (STGOBAFL) and Jamaica College Old Boys’ Association of Florida (JCOBAFL) on Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 15, 2015.

The True Blue Event honors the exemplary leadership of the late coach Dennis Zaidie. Coach Zaidie was a fierce competitor, and that spirit lives on. Do not be fooled by the alliance between the respective schools. The score will be settled on the field. True Blue seeks to raise funds for their Alma Maters.

The long anticipated event gets rolling at the True Blue Party with DJ Radcliffe of Xanadu Disco spinning on the turntables, on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Lush Fusion, located at 2721 N Hiatus Road, Cooper City, Florida 33026. Admission is $15.00 pre-ordered or $20 at the door.

True Blue Weekend festivities continue on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with the True Blue Soccer Fest. Far from the bright lights of the National Stadium on Mountain View Avenue, the rivalry has crossed the deep blues of the Caribbean Sea and has kept rolling on to neutral ground. Vizcaya Park located at 14200 SW 55th St. Miramar, FL will be the site to settle the score for this year’s bragging rights as STGOBAF defends the Zaidie Cup title against JCOBAFL. While Montego Bay High School Alumnae Association will defend the Girls Alumni Penalty Shoot-Out and Wolmer’s will defend the All-Alumni 6v6 soccer tournament. Admission is free.

The True Blue Weekend closes with the True Blue Brunch on Sunday, March 15th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Lush Fusion Grill located at 2721 N Hiatus Road, Cooper City, Florida. There will be a cost associated with this event.

Although rivalries are often seen to engender hostilities, the fierce rivalry between STGOBAF and JCOBAFL proves we can create an event filed with fun, and laughter and one that lends a helping hand in the process.

It is with this in mind, Rudy Kameka, the president of St. George’s College Old Boys’ Association of Florida encourages all to “Come out and support the worthy cause dubbed the True Blue/Dennis Zaidie Weekend.
