AEG’s DubFest to feature reggae legend, Bunny Wailer
West Palm Beach – Florida’s new premier music festival DubFest is about to set fire on the festival scene featuring artists like Bunny Wailer and Lee “Scratch” Perry that span the generations of reggae, ska and alternative music. DubFest hits Hollywood ArtsPark in downtown Hollywood, FL on Saturday, September 5th.
“The one day music and arts event marks a celebration of the beach and ocean culture that South Florida has been waiting for,” said Jesse Stoll, AEG Live operations coordinator.
The legendary Bunny Wailer will headline the festival, making a rare visit to the United States and marking his only confirmed 2009 appearance in the States. Wailer is an original member of The Wailers alongside Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. The Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter and percussionist is well known for his revolutionary sell-out concert at Madison Square Garden in 1986 blasting off his solo career. The originator and king of dub Lee “Scratch” Perry will perform to complement Bunny with his reggae and dub roots. On the ska and alternative side of music, DubFest will feature performances by Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Badfish (A Tribute to Sublime) and Authority Zero. Hot up-and-comers round out the line-up including Ballyhoo!, SOJA, Scotty Don’t and more.
