PLANTATION – The 11th annual For Jamaica Inc. Fundraising Concert and Dinner will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 6 pm to 11 pm, at 11601 Northwest 6th Place, Plantation.

Vendors including Hot Flash Spreads – Gourmet Pepper Jellies, Christine Darren Jewelry, Jamaican artist Paul Blackwood, and many others will be on hand. Attendees are encouraged to support the vendors as they support For Jamaica Inc.

For Jamaica Inc. began in 2006 after the Azan family, originally from Jamaica, visited orphanages across the island on a mission trip and saw firsthand the great needs the facilities had. Many children lacked beds and other essential items we take for granted.

The Azans’ oldest son, Alex, started a fundraiser in 2006 called For Jamaica Inc. to supply beds and mattresses to the children. For the past 11 years, over 20 orphanages and 1,600 children have been served.

Each year the family along with a team of volunteers return to Jamaica to help deliver the beds to the orphanages.

This year’s trip took place in January. With the help of volunteers, Dr. Phillip Josephs, Gio Andrade, local volunteers Candace Thorbourne and Kamal Josephs beds were delivered to Strathmore Children’s Home and Sunbeam Children’s Home.
