Kweisi Mfume to speak at Royal Caribbean International Black History Month Extravaganza

MIAMI – The Black History Committee of Royal Caribbean International will be having their 11th Annual Black History Extravaganza on February 22, 2007 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the historic Lyric Theater located at 819 NW 2nd Avenue in Miami.

The community is invited to attend this event themed, Constantly Connected ~ Our Children, Our Future.

The featured Keynote Speaker for the evening is Kweisi Mfume, former President of the NAACP. Kweisi Mfume will speak about our children and what we can do to prepare them for the future.

In addition, Mr. Lou Phillips, Curator of the Carter G. Woodson Foundation will share the story behind the creation of Black History Month from through a short documentary about Carter G. Woodson’s life.

All attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy networking, silent auction, with a percentage of the proceeds will benefit the 5000 Role Models of Excellence and the 100 Black Men of Greater Ft. Lauderdale, hors d’oeuvres and much more.

There will be exciting entertainment provided by the FMU Jazz Band and Royal Caribbean employees!
