Immigration seminar to update Business/Employers on regulations and requirements
MIAMI – The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce will be presenting an immigration seminar for businesses and employers on February 9 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Greater Miami Chamber’s Ray Goode-Ryder Conference Center (1601 Biscayne Blvd., Ballroom Level).
The seminar, led by immigration practitioners and government officials, will inform employers on immigration regulations and requirements.
The seminar begins with a keynote presentation by Emilio Gonzalez, Director of U.S. Immigration and Citizenship Services. Then, the seminar program begins with a panel discussion addressing “Congress and the Federal Agencies: How the Politics, Policy, Legislation, and Regulation Will Affect You.” Panelists include Nilda Pedrosa, Office of Mel Martinez; Ira Kurzban, Kurzban, Kurzban, Weinger, & Tetseli P.A.; and Tony Villamil, The Washington Economics Group.
The second panel will focus on “Maintaining A Legal Workforce.” Speakers include Jorge Lopez, Jackson Lewis; Sarah Tobocman, Gunster Yoakley & Stewart, P.A.; Magdeline Momani, Wal-Mart; Katherine Lotspeich, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; Ron Shelkey and John Zarate, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The seminar concludes with a third panel discussing the “Global Race for Talent.” Armando Olmedo Arias from Gunster, Yoakley, & Stewart, P.A. and Deirdre Nero from Valladares, Becker & Poliakoff, P.A. will discuss the legal options for obtaining essential workers.
Cost to attend the breakfast program is $35 per Greater Miami Chamber member and $45 per non-member. Cost to attend the seminar portion is $35 per member; $45 per non-member.
