HOLLYWOOD – On Saturday, reggae icon Freddie McGregor took Jamaica to the world stage at the legendary Hollywood Bowl, California.
McGregor who is preparing for the release of yet another stellar album in August, performed to an audience of thousands on the first stop on his extensive tour.
Known for his timeless singles, Push Comes To Shove, Just Don’t Wanna Be Lonely,Big Ship, I Was Born A Winner and more, he says, “The experience was a great one. So many legendary performers have graced the stage over the years, so to be included among those is a wonderful feeling.”
The Hollywood Bowl has been the summer home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, since its official opening in 1922 and has also been the home of singing legend, Cher’s final concerts in 2005. In addition, a number of other musical icons have graced the stage over the decades including: Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Alicia Keys, Elton John, The Beatles and more.

McGregor’s tour also took him to other parts of California. He is also scheduled to perform in Toronto, Canada on July 21, Garance, France on July 27 and other parts of Europe, after which he will make his way to Japan for the final leg of his tour in September.
