3rd Annual Jazz In The Gardens set for March 15th & 16th

MIAMI GARDENS – The City of Miami Gardens has scheduled its two-day music festival “Jazz in the Gardens” for Saturday, March 15th and Sunday, March 16th, 2008, on the grounds of Dolphin Stadium, located in the heart of Miami Gardens.

“Jazz in the Gardens” is the City of Miami Gardens’ signature annual music festival.

Attendance grew from 2,500 in 2006, its first year, to 10,000 in 2007, a 300 % increase in two years. The increase can be credited to the City’s commitment to producing a first class event; and showcasing top international celebrity recording artists such as India Arie, Sergio Mendes, Boney James, Paquito D’Rivera, Bobby Caldwell, The Rippington’s and Nestor Torres.

With legendary celebrity names in jazz and R&B participating in the 2008 event, the third annual “Jazz in the Gardens” is expected to raise the bar and exceed audience numbers from previous years. Artists’ names are to be announced late in 2007

More than just a signature event, the City of Miami Gardens supports the aspirations of local homegrown talent by providing the stage and opportunity for new artists to receive exposure. Just ask middle school and high school students who both performed in 2007 before thousands of fans, and now perform regularly due to the publicity stemming from that one performance.

“Jazz in the Gardens” has firmly positioned the City of Miami Gardens as a reputable contributor and producer of distinct, first-class cultural events for the residents of the City, South Florida and beyond.
